   “For my nocturne palette, I particularly like to use Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Violet, Manganese Violet, Viridian, Alizarin Crimson and Transparent Oxide Purple. The warm brown allows continue to keep the paint mixtures from acquiring far too chilly. I obtain these subjects inspirational for the reason that the delicate colour and value shifts generate a abundant, moody emotion.”

Art Haus

Art Haus is offering several classes at 3840 Ridgewood Ave., Port Orange.

Adventures in Art is an after school class for ages 5 and older. The class meets 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays. The cost is $20 per class, which includes all supplies.

The Art of Drawing Anime & Manga for ages 8 and older will meet for 4:45-5:45 p.m. The cost is $15 per class.

Arts After School classes are taught by retired Volusia County Art Educators.

Acrylic Painting Class for ages 18 and older will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

The classes are taught by professional artists Aaron Shelton and Savannah Zanosky.

These are two-class sessions and supplies are included. Each class is $60 and includes a professionally hand-stretched canvas.

Two workshops to design new City Gym mural

The City of New Smyrna Beach and Atlantic Center for the Arts will host two workshops on a new mural planned for a City Gym exterior wall at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 in the Alonzo “Babe” James Community Center at 201 N. Myrtle Ave. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22 in the Coronado Civic Center at 150 N. Pine St.

During the workshops, ACA artists will ask participants to share a pattern design that is meaningful to their culture or family heritage. Examples include quilts, family crests, cultural fabric patterns (e.g. African kente, Scottish tartans, Japanese mons, etc.), or a simple design that is representative of their interests.

The Museum of Arts & Sciences offers events and exhibits at 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach.

The fourth installment of the annual Beaux Arts Group of Central Florida exhibit, “A Symphony of Color” is on display to Nov. 28.

The Beaux Arts Group of Central Florida was founded in 1962 by the students of the late Lillian “Lu” Belmont of New York City. The group is comprised of 50 professional artists, working in all mediums, who place a strong emphasis on experimental creative approaches brought to quality design conception and techniques.

As part of August MOAS After Hours: In Partnership with The Locals Mix from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, guests will have a chance to meet several of the artists as well as listen to a presentation of the exhibit by curator Peggy Banks.
