Art Haus is offering several classes at 3840 Ridgewood Ave., Port Orange.
Adventures in Art is an after school class for ages 5 and older. The class meets 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays. The cost is $20 per class, which includes all supplies.
The Art of Drawing Anime & Manga for ages 8 and older will meet for 4:45-5:45 p.m. The cost is $15 per class.
Arts After School classes are taught by retired Volusia County Art Educators.
Acrylic Painting Class for ages 18 and older will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
The classes are taught by professional artists Aaron Shelton and Savannah Zanosky.
These are two-class sessions and supplies are included. Each class is $60 and includes a professionally hand-stretched canvas.
During Port Orange Family Days, ArtHaus is hosting its 22nd annual Chalk Art Competition Saturday, Sept. 25, and Sunday, Sept. 26, at 1000 City Center Circle, Port Orange.

Atlantic Center for the Arts Downtown, Arts on Douglas, will open two exhibits in September at 132 Douglas St., New Smyrna Beach.
“Radical Naturalism” by Jacksonville painter Jim Draper will be on view in the feature gallery until Sept. 24 and “Chemical Delusion” by Central Florida multi-disciplinary artist Robert C. Beck will be on view in the alt_space until Oct. 16..
Mr. Draper will present an Artist Talk in conjunction with his exhibit at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, and Mr. Beck will present an Artist Talk at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8.
Exhibits and Artist Talks are free and open to the public.

Workshop to design new City Gym mural
The City of New Smyrna Beach and Atlantic Center for the Arts will host a workshop on a new mural planned for a City Gym exterior wall at 201 N. Myrtle Ave. at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the Coronado Civic Center at 150 N. Pine St.
ACA artists will ask participants to share a pattern design meaningful to their culture or family heritage. Examples include quilts, family crests, cultural fabric patterns (e.g. African kente, Scottish tartans, Japanese mons), or a simple design that is representative of their interests.

University of Central Florida Flying Horse Editions: The Art of Collaboration will be on display until Oct. 30 in the Pabst Visitor Center on the main campus, 1414 Art Center Ave.
Flying Horse Editions is a collaborative research studio for visual artists at UCF.
ACA is now accepting applications for the Artists-in-Residence Program. Spend three weeks developing your work with the personal support and mentorship of internationally renowned artists in the visual arts, literature, music composition, and choreography. Participation is limited to up to eight people for each discipline.
Due to Covid-19 and the immense stress it has put on artists, ACA will be offering full scholarships to accepted artists who qualify. Deadline is Sept. 19.

Hub on Canal
The August exhibit opening in the Founders Gallery of The Hub on Canal at 132 Canal St. in New Smyrna Beach will be “Meant To Be” by Jeff Thamert .”

Art in the Form of Film with Paul Marino, featuring “Guardians of the Galaxy (2014),” will meet from 5:45 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17. Mr. Marino will introduce the film, raise questions to ponder and host a post-viewing discussion. Admission is $7, which includes glass of wine or bottle of water.
Painting with Morris Wiener Workshop will meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 20. Students will learn the basics of oil painting and leave the workshop with their own creation. No mineral spirits will be used. The fee is $50 for members; $60 for non-members (plus $10 supplies fee paid to instructor on day of workshop).
The Hub on Canal needs volunteers for reception, special events, outreach programs, promotional events and building maintenance.

‘Holding Space’ exhibit opens
Ormond Memorial Art Museum presents “Holding Space,” a new pop-up art exhibit until Oct. 15 at the Ormond Beach Performing Art Center, 399 N. U.S. 1.
Representing a variety of mediums, perspectives, and beliefs, the exhibit features the work of 19 local and regional artists who reflect on the gifts gained in a mindful moment, the experience of sharing space, and the presence of synergy and unity within communities.
The exhibit showcases 36 unique pieces of artwork that encompass the term “holding space.”

The fourth installment of the annual Beaux Arts Group of Central Florida exhibit, “A Symphony of Color” is on display to Nov. 28.
The Beaux Arts Group of Central Florida was founded in 1962 by the students of the late Lillian “Lu” Belmont of New York City. The group is comprised of 50 professional artists, working in all mediums, who place a strong emphasis on experimental creative approaches brought to quality design conception and techniques.

Film acting class
DarkSide Theatre is hosting a film acting class for adults from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Thursday at 600 S. Yonge St., Suite 7A, Ormond Beach.
Learn the basics and advanced techniques of both on-camera and stage acting with professional coaching and directing.

Southeast Museum of Photography
“Conversations On Conflict Photography” will be on display until Dec. 4 in the Southeast Museum of Photography at Daytona State College, 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach.
The exhibit features work by 12 award-winning photographers whose groundbreaking images have often defined global conflicts. Through the images, the show examines the stories behind the photos and the ways the photographers approached them.
Admission is free. Disposable masks are available free at the front desk. Front-line museum staff will continue to wear masks to ensure the safety of visitors.

The Gillespie Museum, Stetson University’s earth and environmental science center, will celebrate Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day with a Meet Our Meteorites event during its Science Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 18 at 234 E. Michigan Ave., DeLand.
Young scientists are invited to learn about the rocky fragments from space that reveal clues about the sun and planets and view the museum’s meteorite collection. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Artist Talk
The DeLand Fall Festival of the Arts in partnership with the Museum of Art DeLand will host an Artist Talk as a part of an ongoing series focusing on Black art, artists and art history.
The event will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at the main facility at 600 N. Woodland Blvd.
Guest speaker will be Tim Adebule. Nicknamed “Bushman Tim,” Mr. Adebule is Nigerian, now living in Orlando. He is an artist and painter. He founded Three Mask Gallery in Orlando 30 years ago as an art gallery, African clothing and products store and popular venue for art, music, dance, drumming and art talks.
