Ona artist results in puzzle to showcase what WV has to present | News

ONA — Ona resident Linda Childers claims she hopes to use her art to market adore for West Virginia and really encourage folks to investigate the condition for by themselves.

In 2020, she hosted an art exhibit with 30 paintings in her garden. Childers said most of her paintings, aside from the florals and occasional landscapes, are photos of Huntington or Marshall University.

“I required to do a little something that had a statewide attraction,” she explained.

Q: What is it about images that you appreciate so substantially?

A: Photography for me… It is capturing individuals moments involving a mother or father, for occasion, and their newborn toddler and seeing that new relationship. Often it’s like, during the cake smashes, wherever your just one-yr-old is enduring food items, touch and taste and all those people points. And then, in a loved ones session, it’s just the adore involving the household – the candid times exactly where they’re tickling just about every other or laughing and looking at these times. Grants for new technology have enabled the historic craft village to thrive

Enrolling in a workshop at Peters Valley School of Craft was like taking a journey back in time. You could have an immersion experience studying, say, blacksmithing, ceramics or weaving, living communally in the historic village of Bevans in Layton, N.J.

Those were the Before Times.

Last spring, during the pandemic, Peters Valley – a utopia-like retreat in the natural surroundings of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area – moved into the online world for instructor presentations, workshops, even its renowned craft fair.
