Upcoming Makers Industry event is July 1, featuring art, audio and food stuff on the river stroll in downtown Granite Falls

GRANITE FALLS Audio, art, food and a rolling river are all portion of the scene for the month-to-month Makers Current market coming up Thursday, July 1, in downtown Granite Falls.

The summertime party is held from 5 to 8 p.m. on the initially Thursday of the thirty day period by means of September, on the river walk together the Minnesota River in downtown Granite Falls.

Artists, crafters and makers of handmade jams, jellies and baked items will have their work for sale at the Makers Current market.

“It’s just much more appealing when it’s handmade,” explained Mary Gillespie, a volunteer with the Granite Space Arts Council that is web hosting the event.

A different band performs every single month on the river stroll and totally free artwork lessons will be taught.

At the July party, free of charge music will be offered by the Granite Falls band termed Sooner Than Now, which capabilities Heath Armstrong, Joel Labat, Mark Colvin, Tim Pehrson, Betsy Pardick and Oscar Arce.

  • Andrew Meuleners, from Winthrop, residence-canned jams, jellies, relish and sauerkraut
  • Margaret Fuller, from Montevideo, artwork and guides
  • Melissa Peterson, from Granite Falls, picket wall artwork and fiber art
  • Jammie Neimeyer, from Maynard, artwork
  • Jill Canatsey, from Montevideo, hand-knit critters, gourmet marshmallows and graham crackers, fruit syrups, maple syrup and pickles
  • Kerri Shackelford, from Sacred Coronary heart, foodstuff truck

The celebration is getting funded by a growth grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council.
