The list isn’t comprehensive by any means – in fact it’s quite brief considering how long it could be – but these are a few personal favorites which I think are important and was led to by talking to other artists, learning what their favorite art supplies and tools are, and many years of trial and error on my own.
So take a look below and hopefully find something for that hard to shop for artist or artists in your life (Or something for yourself).

Maruman MNEMOSYNE Notebook – My personal favorite journaling notebook. This larged-sized notebook has incredibly smooth paper and is just an extremely nice notebook to record anything. It’s the best
It’s hosted shopping cart software for short. It allows you to have an independent online store (not on Etsy) without having to have your own website. It’s the opposite of self-hosted shopping cart software, which you install on your website.
The free plan allows you to start selling online without having to pay a monthly fee. It’s a great feature for financially struggling artists or those who don’t want to take any risks. Many hosted platforms offer this option to attract new customers.
Not long ago I experienced a conversation with an artist from Montana about overcoming the isolation that can appear with performing as an artist in a compact local community. As we corresponded I realized that artists living in a small community do not have a monopoly on isolation. Even artists living in the greatest towns in the world can feel alone as they pursue their craft in the solitary confines of the studio.
As a gallery proprietor, I get to shell out my days interacting with artists and collectors – it is effortless to neglect that most art is established in solitude. Creating is so distinctive from the pursuits of the rest of the environment, that even amongst friends and family you can truly feel on your own.
