Tenet actor John David Washington is a man on the run in the first trailer for Netflix’s Beckett.

Also starring Tomb Raider‘s Alicia Vikander, The Predator‘s Boyd Holbrook and Old‘s Vicky Krieps, this one looks like a relentless thriller guaranteed to keep film fans on the edge of their sofas.

Definitely not a biopic on comedian and Celebs Go Dating narrator Rob Beckett, an official synopsis reads: “Following a tragic car accident in Greece, Beckett, an American tourist, finds himself at the centre of a dangerous political conspiracy – and on the run for his life.”

Washington’s protagonist might not be up against time-bending assailants here, but they’re probably just as mean judging by the trailer.

In other Netflix-related news, it was announced this week that Timothy Olyphant (The Mandalorian) and Jessie Mei Li (Last Night in Soho) had joined Tom Hardy project Havoc, which also stars Oscar winner Forest Whitaker.

Written and directed by Gangs of London‘s Gareth Evans, Havoc centres on a bruised detective attempting to rescue a politician’s son while unravelling a web of corruption in his city.

Beckett hits Netflix on Friday, August 13.
